Januvia is recommended to people with diabetes type two who can not maintain normal sugar level by diet.
How Taken
Januvia comes in tablets to be taken by mouth. Take it with or without food. Usual dose is 100mg once a day.
More Information
You may need a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment or you may not be able to use this pill at all if you have kidney or liver infection or if you have gastrointestinal problems. Januvia interact with the following products- phenytoin (Dilantin); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); tolbutamide (Orinase); torsemide (Demadex); fluvastatin (Lescol); a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin), heparin, ardeparin (Normiflo), dalteparin (Fragmin), danaparoid (Orgaran), enoxaparin (Lovenox), or tinzaparin (Innohep); (Activase), anistreplase (Eminase), dipyridamole (Persantine), streptokinase (Kabikinase, Streptase), ticlopidine (Ticlid), and urokinase (Abbokinase). People taking the above mentioned medicines should ask a physician concerning the dosage and possibility of Januvia usage.
