Drug Uses
Celecoxib is used for treatment of acute pain in adults, menstrual pain (primary dysmenorrhea) in women, pain, inflammation, and stiffness of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in adults.
How Taken
Celecoxib comes as a capsule to take in orally. Take it as determined by your doctor.
Additional Information
You may need a dose adjustment or special monitoring during curing or you may not be able to take this product at all if you have kidney or liver infection or if you have gastrointestinal problems. Celecoxib is in the FDA pregnancy category C, which means that studies in animals have revealed adverse effects on the fetus (teratogenic or embryocidal or other) and there are no controlled studies in women, or studies in women and animals are not available. Also it is not known if Celecoxib passes into breast milk. Therefore, do not use Celecoxib without your physician`s approval if you are pregnant, likely to become pregnant or breast feeding. Patients over 65 years of age may be more sensitive to the effects of Celecoxib. These patients are recommended to take a lower dosage of this medicine, as they are more likely to experience side effects.
