Drug Uses
Cipro is used for curing of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Take Cipro with a full glass of water as determined by your physician. Use Cipro with or without a meal. It is suggested to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, do not take them within 6 hours before or two hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of healing. Keep taking it even if you feel better in several days.
Additional Information
Cipro may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Cipro with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, visit your doctor. This medicine should be used only by the patient for whom it has been directed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than advised by your doctor.
